How to Use Finess- The Girl Scout Salute
Blogger, Pam Lutrell of Over50Feeling40, and urogynecologist, Dr. Toni Harris, discuss 4 easy steps to help you place Finess and control your stress urinary incontinence.
Do you remember the first time you used a tampon? You probably sat there looking at the box thinking, “what is this thing and how the heck am I supposed to do this?” When it comes to using a new product, especially those involving your lady parts, the process can feel confusing, and let’s be honest, intimidating. I mean, “you’re telling me I have to put this where?!” Well, fortunately stopping bladder leaks doesn’t have to be as mystifying as it may seem. In fact, with Finess, you can actually prevent leaks without using an invasive applicator.
In the 6th installment of our 7 part video series with blogger, Pam Lutrell of Over50Feeling40, Dr. Toni Harris, experienced urogynecologist, explains how easy it is to stop bladder leaks with Finess using a hand signal you probably remember from your glory days as a young girl scout. With this metaphor, she demonstrates the 4 simple steps to help you place Finess.
4 Easy Steps:
Finess is easy to place securely, blocking any urine that might escape during a cough or sneeze. Use this demonstration to help you understand how to get the perfect fit.
1. Imagine your anatomy and position your hand in the girl scout salute gesture (Thumb holding pinky finger down with the rest of your fingers in the upright position)
2. Remove the protective paper backing. Spread fingers apart with one hand as if you are spreading the labia apart. Hold Finess by it’s fin with your other hand.
3. Place Finess on your middle finger representing your urethral opening in between your labia. The gentle hydrogel adhesive will cover the urethral opening securing a protective seal.
4. Release Finess and let the “labia” rest over the soft sides of the wings so that it sits comfortably in place. Voila! You’re ready to go!
How Finess Works
This animation was created to illustrate how a woman’s pelvic area compresses during a sneeze, forcing urine from the bladder. A bulky pad can catch it, but Finess can prevent it.
Discreet, comfortable and compact, Finess is available in a 6 or 36-pack. With Finess, women are able to enjoy their daily activities without the stress of stress urinary incontinence.
